In 1991 the Research Laboratory for hemostaseological, hemorheological and immunological disorders in Gynecology and Obstetrics was established by Prof. Dr. Lothar Heilmann and Prof. Dr. Georg-Friedrich von Tempelhoff in Ruesselsheim. In the following years the focus in their research concentrated on the role of coagulation- and blood flow disorders in the development of obstetric disease and recurrent miscarriages. Findings on coagulation, blood flow and Immunology in women with miscarriages and other pregnancy complications have been published in high rated Journals and were introduced in medical educational books. The two professors participated in the conception of national and international recommendations for the treatment of thrombotic complications and prevention of pregnancy complications.
After the death of Prof. Heilmann the research Laboratory was continued by Professor von Tempelhoff, who in 2015, became Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in the Vinzenz Hospital in Hanau. In 2013 Prof. von Tempelhoff setup the special private consultation office in Hausen. On average 250 couples annually consult for clarification, treatment of recurrent miscarriages, coagulation disorders, thrombosis and other serious pregnancy complications.
This special private consultation office which is equipped with a Laboratory Unit is a contact point for women with fertility problems, recurrent miscarriages, IVF / ICSI failures, previous severe preeclampsia / HELLP syndrome, thrombosis, bleeding disorders and other acquired or hereditary coagulation disorders.
Prof. Dr. Georg-Friedrich von Tempelhoff is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a specialist in Hemostasis (coagulation). He is a prestigious member of the Society for Clinical Applied Thrombosis / Hemostasis (ICATH). The owner of the Specification "Special gynecological oncology" and "Special Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine", as well as a bonified "Mamma senior surgeon".
